BedFruit is based on the idea of community, capitalism and social struggle. The manuscript takes an experimental linguistic approach to telling stories of communal living under poverty and capitalist tyranny. It denotes the passing beauties of our daily lives amid the oppressive forces that aim to do everything in their power to take it from us.

Khashayar “Kess” Mohammadi (They/Them) is a queer, Iranian born, Toronto-based Poet, Writer and Translator.They are the winner of the 2021 Vallum Poetry Prize and the author of several poetry books. Their fifth poetry manuscript “Book of Interruptions” is out with Wolsak and Wynn Fall 2025. Kess is profoundly invested in the power of the small press. BedFruit is their 10th chapbook.
